Kirk Clawson appointed – Director, Idaho Falls

June 9, 2003

Following the untimely passing of the former Director of the Field Research Division of ARL, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, Dr. Kirk Clawson has now been appointed as the new Director. Kirk has been a central figure in FRD programs for many years. He is well known within the atmospheric dispersion research community, and has been a key collaborator in most recent field studies of atmospheric transport and diffusion. Most recently, he has been heavily involved in the planning for the forthcoming multi-agency field study soon to take place in Oklahoma City.

We welcome Kirk on board. His skills will be a major asset to all of ARL, especially as we jointly address the emerging issues of dispersion in urban areas.
