Congratulations to ARL’s Winston Luke for receiving the Department of Commerce 2013 Silver Medal Award. Winston and colleagues from the National Weather Service, National Environmental Satellite, Data, and Information Service, and the Office of the Chief Administrative Officer received the award for exceptional team achievements in creating the NOAA Center for Weather and Climate Prediction (NCWCP), a state-of-the-art facility that enhances our ability to meet our global atmospheric challenges.
The Silver Medal is the second highest honorary award granted by the Secretary of Commerce. The Silver Medal is defined as exceptional performance characterized by noteworthy or superlative contributions which have a direct and lasting impact within the Department.
