Twin Otter Participation in ETOS

June 25, 2003

Preparation has begun to use the NOAA Twin Otter at Knoxville to fly approximately 16 hours in support of the 2003 East Tennessee Ozone Study. This will follow the Joint Urban 2003 experiment in July. The aircraft will be measuring ozone profiles and evaluating new instrumentation, all in an attempt to help answer questions about the extent to which long range transport contributes to the ozone exceedances affecting the Great Smoky Mountains and surrounding areas.
