Plans for the Pentagon Field Study

March 29, 2004

The study of dispersion (planned to start April 15) around the Pentagon will entail the release of small amounts of sulfur hexafluoride. The main focus of the study will be to investigate flow patterns around the Pentagon, however arrangements have recently been made to extend the study to the indoor environment. Samplers will now be set up inside the Pentagon itself, and in the Pentagon Metro station.

The ARL team from Idaho Falls will be conducting the tracer experiment. ARL groups in Research Triangle Park, NC, and in Oak Ridge, TN, are also heavily involved.
