NOAA-EPA MOU on Air Quality Research

April 10, 2003

A Memorandum of Understanding between EPA and NOAA has been in preparation for more than a year. The document is intended to build upon the long-standing relationship involving the Air Resources Laboratory at Research Triangle Park, and to broaden the association between the agencies in all aspects of air pollution research, from short time scales to those of climate. The formal MOU will be signed by the Administrator of the EPA (Gov. Whitman) and a senior representative of the Department of Commerce or the Administrator of NOAA, depending upon availability in early May.

At the same time, a Memorandum of Agreement on Air Quality Forecasting will also be signed.
