2007 DOC Bronze and Distinguished Career Award Winners

Congratulations to Dr. Rayford P. Hosker for receiving the 2007 NOAA Distinguished Career Award and to the ARL Field Research Division for receiving the 2007 Department of Commerce Bronze Medal Award.
The NOAA Distinguished Career Award was awarded to the recently retired director of the Atmospheric Transport and Diffusion Division, Dr. Hosker, for his extensive individual research and multi-agency program leadership regarding chemical deposition, flow and dispersion around structures. The Distinguished Career Award is designed to recognize long-term achievement in advancing the goals and mission of NOAA.
The DOC Bronze Medal Award was awarded to the Field Research Division of ARL for preeminent research on atmospheric observation technologies which has resulted in addressing issues of important national significance, including homeland security, hurricanes and air quality. A Bronze Medal recognizes superior performance characterized by outstanding or significant contributions, which have increased NOAA’s efficiency and effectiveness.
The awards will be presented at a ceremony to be announced at a later date.
