The ARC drove around collecting more measurements, but unfortunately ended up with a second flat tire. Xinrong diagnosed a failed Cavity Ring Down Spectroscopic NO-NO2-NOx analyzer, which measures nitric oxide and nitrogen dioxide and provides concentration on both plus their combined concentration (NOx). This particular instrument came from the Twin Otter. Fortunately, the same instrument was on the ARC, so they were able to deploy that analyzer onto the plane right away while troubleshooting the failed one. In the picture on the right, Xinrong Ren and Phil Stratton are working on fixing the failed analyzer.
