Patrick Campbell is being recognized by OAR for his ”outstanding work in improving NOAA’s air quality predictions with the implementation of a novel application using satellite data coupled with in-canopy processes.”

Deputy Assistant Administrator for Programs and Administration visits ARL
DAA Nancy Wallace visited ARL on November 20. While on site, she toured the Atmospheric Sciences and Modeling Division Chemistry and Instrument Calibration Lab and got to see the Air Resources Car.

Alice Crawford gave a talk titled ‘Providing probabilistic forecasts of volcanic ash for aviation” for the NOAA Advancing Innovative Research (AIR) Seminar Series on 13 November 2024.
Poster Presentation
Alice Crawford attended the 27th meeting of the Meteorology Panel Working Group on Meteorological Operations Group International Airways Volcano Watch (IAVW) Work Stream (MOG/27 IAVW, 28-30 October) and Quantitative Volcanic Ash Workshop (31 October), in Paris, at the International Civil Aviation Organization European and North Atlantic Office.
She and Jamie Kibler, the Washington VAAC manager, presented a poster at the workshop on PROBABILISTIC ASH FORECASTS: Case study Mauna Loa eruption in 2022
