Smoke concentrations were computed using the Final (FNL) analysis meteorological data for a location in Central Mexico originating at 0000 UTC on May 24. A comparison with the NASA/EOS TOMS satellite optical depth measurements from May 26 shows that the smoke plume corresponds well with the modeled trajectories. For more information on the Hysplit wild fires smoke predictions, please contact Jeff McQueen, NOAA/ARL at jeff.mcqueen@noaa.gov, Barbara Stunder (barbara.stunder@noaa.gov) or Glenn Rolph (glenn.rolph@noaa.gov).
